Bubbles, freshness and club spirit: our February tasting
A tasting designed as an easy entry point into sparkling wines, without intimidation or jargon.
Sparkling wines without solemnity
In February, we wanted a tasting that looked light on the surface but was highly useful in practice. Champagne, crémant, pét-nat and blanquette all hide very different styles, occasions and budgets.
Our role in the cellar is not to turn this into a sacred topic. It is to help everyone understand what they like, what they want to offer and what they want to bring back to the table later on.
What we really look at in the glass
The topic is not just the bubbles. We also compare tension, freshness, fruit expression and the use of the wine: aperitif, meal, celebration or gift. That practical reading is what helps people move beyond automatic habits.
Why this topic matters for the cellar
Sparkling wines hold a special place in a living cellar: they are opened to welcome, mark a moment, thank someone or simply start a meal on the right note. Understanding them better also means choosing more accurately what you will later put back on the table or in a gift box.
